Cheltenham Week…

In the Autumn of 2018, my sister sent me a photo… Of racing silks, a seed was planted and I set about googling images to try and track down the cutter! My searching paid off and before long I found the cutter, it was from a company in America. Obviously, this meant it wasn’t the cheapest cutter with the postage as well, but I have been told that sometimes you have to take risks and jump out of your comfort zone, so the cutter was ordered.

A couple of weeks later, the cutter arrived and I made my first biscuits using it. It is 3D printed and is a fab cutter, giving sharp lines and edges to the biscuits. I started off making 5 biscuits, choosing the silks of horses which I have loved following, both in National Hunt and Flat racing.

The response I got when I posted the first photos of them on social media was amazingly positive and I am incredibly grateful for the feedback I received! It is lovely when something in your head comes into reality and you’re pleased with the outcome.

As a result of these initial biscuits, I had lots of different enquiries in the the run up to Christmas, it was great fun to do different jockey silks for lots of different people. Jockey silks have become a firm favourite in my collection and in the run up and during the Cheltenham Festival 2019, I will have some unique biscuits to share with you! So don’t forget to check out my Facebook and Instagram accounts to see updates each day!
